Disappointing Result for First Team

by Ian Burrows 0 Comments

We batted 1st having lost the toss, and made a slow start, only 2 of our
first 6 bats. making double figures. At the half-way stage we were 64-5. A
spirited lower order fight back aided by P.Salaskar 38 and C.Hillier 23 saw
us progress to 145 all out in our final over.
Langley Manor’s run chase was made difficult and after 19 overs they stood
at 62-5. From then on their 2 mid-order bats saw them to victory, scoring
at 7 an over in the following 11 overs, finishing at146- 5 to claim
victory. Shiv took 3-30 off 8 overs.
To conclude,we did not bat well enough early on in the innings to achieve a
defendable total, but in the field we did rally enough to make a game of it.
