First defeat for Second Team

by Ian Burrows 0 Comments

Travellers 2s lost for the first time this season to Redlynch and Hale 3s
in a reduced over game due to a rain delayed start time.
Travellers captain Kev Sims won the toss and chose to put in the home side.
Excellent opening bowling from Bill Stroud and Lee Fitzpatrick kept the
runs down ably supported by Dave Allen, Shiv Banergee and Steve Noton, but
dropped catches would rule the day: Redlynch’s Number 4 batsman, Vincent,
was dropped twice early on in his innings and went on to make 92 out of
Redlynch’s 162 for 9.
Travellers without their regular opener and with an injury to Graham Baker
made a slow start losing regular wickets against very good line and length
bowling attack. Good contributions from Clive Nichols 30 and Kev Sims 19
were the only double figure scores, Travellers eventually being bowled out
for 95 in 36 overs.
