Good win for 1s

The first victory of the day, Travellers won the toss. (You all know what
was chosen). A cautious start saw off the swinging threat of the Mottisfont
opening bowlers which allowed D. Surridge to accelerate, bludgeoning the
ball straight with aplomb. When Surridge departed 10 short of a century the
opening partnership had exceeded 150. Runs continued to come easily with
batsmen having the licence to play freely; J. Kingsworth’s straight drive
was a highlight. The innings closed on 263 for 6.

The Mottisfont innings never really took off, with wickets falling
regularly thanks to disciplined and threatening bowling by B. Stroud and S.
Choudhury and N. Choudhury. But, it was M. Brown’s spell that stood out and
his excellence wilted the Mottisfont fight.

Oh and I nearly forgot – A. Jagadeesh took a catch, a good one…..actually a
really, really, really good one. #propercricket
