Former Travellers on a night out!

by Michael Dodd 0 Comments

Last week ‘ex Travellers’ had their annual get together. As the picture shows we might struggle to cover the field these days but there are thousands of runs and wickets for the club here going back to the mid 1970s. There should be a prize for any current player (apart from Ludo or Bill) who can name everyone!

League rule change proposals

by Ian Burrows 1 Comment

There are various rule change proposals for discussion at the Hampshire
League AGM on February 15th. We are seconding the proposal for all matches
to start at 1.00. There is more information on the following link:
www.ageasbowl.com/cricket/news/changes-proposed-to-league-cricket-in-hampshire

All the proposals can also be found on the league website in the news
section.

The link refers to a meeting for players from all clubs next Thursday,
February 1st, at 7.30 at the Ageas Bowl. Ed is going to represent us there
but if anyone else wants to go they are welcome.

Indoor team win at last!

by Ian Burrows 0 Comments

After a difficult league season the indoor team won an exciting cup game
last night against University B. We batted first and well, retiring Shiv,
Abhijit and Chris in reaching 147-3. We mainly bowled accurately but they
had three productive overs (all off different bowlers) and needed only 4
runs off the final 6 balls with just one wicket in hand. They got a single
then attempted a quick run (worth 2) to level the scores but the non
striker was run out by a quick Shiv throw to keeper Ed. Chris was the pick
of the bowlers with 2-20.
A good win and we will hope to bring the form to the league game against
the same opponents on February 11th.
