Seconds win tight game
The second team returned to action at Lordshill against Langley Manor 4th
team. We lost the toss and fielded. The early overs went in favour of the
opposition but once Bill came on to bowl the game turned. In an excellent
spell he took 5 wickets for 14. The other crucial moment was an outstanding
catch by Ludo off Jordan to dismiss the Langley Manor’s star batsman for
57. Shiv chipped in with 2 late wickets as our opponents closed on 182 for
8.
This total meant we would have to bat well to win and we did, in the end.
The innings was anchored by Kev Allen with an excellent 68 and there were
other good contributions from Dave S with 32, Jordan with 24 and Shiv with
19. Bill and Malick batted calmly at the end to see us over the line to win
by 3 wickets.
A very good team effort.
